Calling all highland dancers and families!

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out Ottawa Online 2021. They have tons of fun events lined up for the dancing community. Not only is Ottawa Online 2021 allowing dancers to virtually travel to our beautiful city, but it is being run by two of our local dancers Kayleigh and Chelsea!

Ottawa Online just launched Canada’s Duet from a Distance (with a guest appearance from the one and only Heather Rankin Music!). Dancers can pair up and virtually dance this number together. It’s a great way to feel connected while still being COVID safe. Registration and more details can be found on their website (

We hope to see lots of submissions from our amazing Ottawa dancers for this duet challenge (and all the other exciting things being offered through Ottawa Online 2021).

A Note from SDCCS 2021

After exhausting many, many possible scenarios of how we could have hosted SDCCS this July, it is with heavy hearts that we have come to the realization that it just isn’t possible. While we know this is a huge disappointment for everyone involved, our primary responsibility is for the health and safety of all those involved. Fast forward to SDCCS Ottawa July 2025, we look forward to being able to provide the kind of world-class event expected by and deserved by everyone attending. Towards that end, we will continue to work ScotDance Ontario and ScotDance Canada on your behalf and look to returning to regular competitions asap.

Our hope is that teachers will keep teaching. and dancers keep dancing. We will get through this together. We invite you to continue to follow our Facebook page and SDCCS web site as we work to develop some virtual events to commemorate, what would have been our event this year. In the meantime, we will ask that you join us in our support of SDCCS Regina 2022, Halifax, 2023 and Kamloops 2024 and hope to see you there.
